How To Take Control Of Your Health And Fitness

This post is for you to take control, take charge and get the most fulfillment in your life in general. You can apply this skill to not just your health and fitness but your work, business and even relationships.

There’s the old saying that good things come to those who wait… that’s bull$***! Good things come to those who do whatever it takes to go out there and get what they want.

In my opinion the most powerful ability we have as humans is the power of choice. We have the power to choose to feel good, feel bad, accept things happening to us or take control and do something about it.

We have the ability to feel down or feel up, keep eating crap or learn how to enjoy what you eat yet still look and feel good. But we were conditioned to thinking that things happen to us, if this happens outside of me then that happens inside of me. Especially when it comes to the way we look and how we feel.

The most common reasons for not being in control are, don’t have enough time, don’t have enough money or thinking that your reasons are different to everyone else’s…

Thing is, as long as your pushing the cause outside of yourself, meaning not thinking that it’s up to you then you can’t get any learning’s from the experience therefore you cant grow.

Cause & Effect

Now I know everyone is doing the best with what they have available at that point in time. Zig Ziglar said by the time we have reached 18 we have been told no more than 150,000 times.

That’s crazy! So naturally that would explain why it’s so hard for people to believe that they can do what they want. It’s become a habit… until something happens that causes someone to change.

At the end of the day, people believe what they want to believe. Henry Ford said, weather you think you can or think you can’t you are right. What a thought.

See what this particular diagram says is that a certain cause, causes a certain effect.

Unfortunately most people in the world are on the effect side of the equation. Where they believe they are at effect of a particular cause. Where they believe that “I’m like this because of that, him or her”

Why is so important to take control now?

Let me ask you something, do you know of any successful person who is on the effect side of this equation? I don’t think so…

Imagine for a second, go out 10, 20, 30 even 40 years from now and look back on your life and ask yourself how satisfying has it been, how satisfying is it going to be if you had always blamed someone or something else. I would have been a success if it wasn’t for him, or I would have been success if it wasn’t for her.

I could have looked better if I workout more, or didn’t eat as much crap as I did. When it comes down to it, I could have lived an extra 5, 10, 20 years If I had looked after my health and fitness.

On the other hand, maybe you can say what can I learn from this, what’s there to learn from this so next time if it happens I could produce a different result instead.

In life we either have reasons or results, if we have reasons then we have reasons, if we have results then we have results. We can take results to the bank by the way. I don’t think the bank would care if you gave them reasons.

What’s the best excuse if your ever late? Traffic… traffic is always going to be there as an excuse. I’m not suggesting you need to be on time or anything. How about for not going to the gym? Not enough time? We all have the same time in a day. What I am suggesting is that you begin realize that you’re in control of everything that happens to you.

Here’s the thing though, If I don’t really care about being on time then chances are I’m going to be late again and again and again. I’m going to come up with more excuses somehow, somehow things are always going to just “happen”.

The problem with that is what happens, is if I’m always pointing outside myself, I’m blocking any kind of lessons I could learn from that experience.

How do you take control though…

This all starts with you asking yourself who’s driving the bus. Who’s in control of the things that happen to you in your life. As you sit there, are you the kind of person that says “ohh, you know man… things happen” I tried getting on time today but you know… traffic.

So go ahead, I dare you to play this game with me, I dare you to play this game where you’re in charge of EVERYTHING that happens to you. If you’re up for the challenge, now say this with me in your head. I now choose to be at cause for all the things that happen to me. It’s a simple decision that you can make now.

That’s a good place to start.

Because if you do decide to play this game and decide that you’re in control of every single thing that happens to you and you make everything happen for yourself then I promise you, you will start to see great things happening for you.
