How To Find A Personal Trainer

I do realise that this post may be just a bit biased, given that we are Fitness Coaches, offline Personal Training Canterbury NSW and online Personal Training Australia wide this is what we do… right. However after seeing what goes on in the gym I felt the need to post this article and give some more information about when one would actually need a personal trainer and how to chose one. Not necessarily with Breakout Fitness, but if you are looking for a personal trainer, this article will give you some insight as to what to look out for.
Benefits Of Having a Personal Trainer?

A PT has many benefits but lets look into the main ones:
• Optimize your workout time
• Ensure proper form
• Accurate assessment
• Exercise safety through proper for and adequate rest
• Accountability
• Give you that extra push
• Personalisation
• Motivation
• Improve flexibility with assisted stretching
• Easy access to support and community

What To Look For
Australia has about 40,000 personal trainers at the moment and is set to reach 80,000 in the next 5 years. As more and more people are becoming personal trainers just know that there are some really good trainers out there but at the same time there will be many that are young and don’t have the necessary experience to help achieve your goals.
How do you choose your Personal Trainer?

Well the first thing to look for is what they said to you and how they interact with you, you need to have that connection with your trainer. Do they ask you questions or do they just keep talking about themselves and their achievements. Look at testimonials and previous clients results. How long have they been qualified for? Even though in my opinion the length of someone being “qualified” isn’t always neither a good or bad thing. Someone could have been qualified for 3 months but has practically lived in the gym their whole life.

Finding a Personal Trainer you can relate to is really important. You need to trust that they can do the job even though at the end of the day, its up to you to actually do the hard yards and push yourself. A good trainer will show you how to push your limits. As the old saying goes, you can give someone a fish and they’ll feed for a day, teach them how to fish and they will eat for a lifetime.
